All about improving designDesign is a multi-faceted matter, but far too often aesthetics dominate and upset the balance. Form must indeed follow function.
The remit of this web site is to illustrate flawed design examples and detail ways of improving those designs. Often, these are simple and inexpensive to implement. Such improvements are often missed though because the desire to achieve and sustain good design is simply lacking.
I also suspect that feedback on products and services from 'users' inadequately fails to inform properly. Questionnaires are themselves often badly designed, failing to tease out key concerns, and often invoking fatigue by being overly long and dull.
Yet, many companies rarely see value in ad-hoc feedback from customers. Such unsolicited communications can be gold-dust to receptive designers, yet are treated with alarming disinterest by many companies.
By way of contrast, and for comparison, examples of balanced design will also be provided.
